washing the "cars"

the other day my son had a really good idea for some fun. i think he was just looking for a good excuse to use the water hose. either way, we pulled the tricycle, the strollers, and his large push car out of the garage, turned the water hose on and washed his "cars." he really enjoyed this and felt so big as he took responsibility for his things.

so next time you wash your car in the driveway with toddlers underfoot, this may be a good activity to keep them engaged and involved. but beware of the always present stealth attack of the water hose. you're sure to get soaked. and you might as well resolve to know that it's coming. that way you can respond with a water balloon instead of a frown :)
